What do we do?

nocardsthanks.com will allow you to tell your friends and family that you would rather they did not send you a traditional greetings card for occasions such as birthdays and Christmas but that instead you would like them to donate the price of a card to a charity of your choice. They will also be able to send you an e-greetings card which lets you know they care, which is much better for the environment than traditional cards made from trees.

How it works

Tell us the occasion and chose a charity that you would like to support from the list. Give us the email addresses of your friends and family and then sit back while we do the rest! We will email your contacts and tell them that you have requested nocardsthanks. They will be given a link to nocardsthanks.com where they can choose an e-card. For the price of a traditional card, £2.99, you can get your friends and families best wishes and your favourite charity will get a £2 donation for every card sent. Once we have credited your chosen charity we will email you to let you know how much your friends and family donated on your behalf. So what are you waiting for? Register your occasion here.

Where the money goes

e-cards cost £2.99. £2 goes straight to charity and 99p covers all bank, administrative and VAT charges. We also offer e-cards in bundles, where up to 20 cards can be purchased and sent at once. Details of the donation breakdown of the bundles can be found in our terms and conditions.

History

When my daughter Martha was born we received a total of 61 congratulations cards. It struck me that although I appreciated everyone's good wishes, ultimately the cards would just be recycled. An average card costs about £3 so people had spent over £150 on wishing us well. I thought about what I could do with the money and then thought about what the special care baby unit where Martha was born could have done with it.

Thus nocardsthanks.com was born. Feel good about giving ... and good about receiving too ...
